Friday is the Official Grand Opening of the Oakley Trail Park

The Oakley Trail Park could not have been possible without the support of YOU and Oakley City. Your donation of time, talents, and treasures have come to fruition and now it's time to celebrate!

Come to the Grand Opening of the Oakley Trail Park this Friday, Sept 21st at 6 PM in Oakley, Utah. This will be an informal fall gathering at the trailhead to celebrate this great accomplishment that many of you helped achieve. The local 'Chevron Bakery Donuts' will be served, along with apple cider and hot cocoa. We will also be doing guided walks and rides of the new trail, so bring your walking shoes or your bike!

And please share this with others who may not know about the new trail in the Kamas Valley. Here's a link to our facebook event that you can "join," or share: https://www.facebook.com/events/275798043033690/

Additional details are below. We look forward to seeing you at the trailhead this Friday at 6 PM!

WHAT: We will be serving those famous Chevron donuts, hot chocolate, and apple cider. If you haven’t experienced Phase 1 of the Oakley Trail Park yet, you will love the beautiful views from Lariat Loop. We will have guided tours available to show you some great ways to approach these trails, both on foot and on bike. There is a trail map at the base of the trail and at the bottom of this email.

WHOA special thank you to the City of Oakley and to ALL of the trail foundation’s supporters. We want you to know that every dollar you contributed and every minute you volunteered helped take this new trail from an idea to reality! This project was also co-sponsored by grants from the Utah Outdoor Recreation Grant and the Summit County Restaurant Tax Grant. Thank you! Contact Corey at the South Summit Trails Foundation for more info or to help us with the event setup or breakdown. coreycurwick@gmail.com - 435-655-1190

WHERE: Google maps search for Oakley Trail Park. Driving Directions: From the town of Oakley, take State Road 32 southeast for 1 mile. Then turn east onto Boulderville Road and follow it for 2.2 miles as it curves north and becomes 1000 East. Then the road curves to the east again, becomes Pinion Lane and quickly curves north. A few hundred feet past Oakley Artesian Water, LLC, look for a parking lot on the left side of the road.
